There is currently a lot of tin foil hat nonsense about trusted computing, mainly from the slippery slope people who take one thing, then make a serious of insane presumptions about what could be done, and assume their conclusion is just as good as the original (i.e. Police can arrest citizens without getting permission from a judge, therefore they will arrest citizens at will, therefore everyone in the country will be in jail if we let police arrest people without permission from a judge).
If you want real information try a more legitmate source, like the Electronic Frontier Foundation (sort of like the ACLU of cyberspace). They have spoken on trusted computing before.
