Did you notice that the voice of the terran transport is taken straight from Aliens (2), the pilot of the dropship... all the lines she says are taken from the cut scenes (you can see this in the director''s cut version of the movie)

As well, the pilot of the Scientist vessel is Montgomery Burns from the Simpsons, or is it just me ???

Are there any other known voices ? I''d really like to know now that I noticed that Easter Egg

I know that the wraith makes references to Top Gun (if I remember correctly), the observer will spit out diablo lines eventually ("I sense a soul in search of answers..."), and that there are several anime references in Starcraft (the shape of the battleship, and the goliath hero''s name).

I love starcraft and i whole heartedly agree that brood war made it better.
Maybe its just me, but whenever click on the probe, it sounds like a peon from Warcraft II thats had its voice mechanized.
Like "Me-Tuck" and stuff like that... Maybe its just me though...

I hate to say this, but I think the SC community is scattered and dying, except for a few cool sites. And everybody is focusing on Diablo II and the upcoming WarCraft III (more drool )

as far as i can tell, the zerg references are just a bunch of growling mixed with gelatinous ozzing sounds. Dunno what movie thats from...

I disagree 100%! This is hardly the age of 3-D. IT WILL NEVER BE THE AGE OF 3-D! 2-D FOREVER! I hate when people turn down games just because they're 2-D. "3-D games are better...", "2-D sucks, blah, blah, blah", "Any 2-D game sucks compared to a 3-D game". You know how I respond to that? "WHAT KIND OF PERSON WHO THINKS THAT WAY CAN CALL THEMSELF A GAMER?" There are a lot more good 2-D games than there are 3-D! Most 3-D games consentrate too much on graphics and suck gameplay-wise. Look, I'm not putting 3-D down, I'm just promoting 2-D.

If you look at the younger generations (of which I am a member of), you will notice that they think "3d...3d...3d...". They get the impression that 2-D is horrible and 3-D is the best thing in the world. They also totally ignore gameplay and concentrate totally on graphics.

I just realized how off-topic I am. So, to put myself back on track, I'm just going to say that I totally agree and SC is one of the best RTS's ever created!

I just ordered starcraft/brood war this a.m. I hope its worth it, otherwise i''ll be crushed, eh?

Yep starcraft is awesome. I''m playing brood war now and i can''t wait to see how it ends, i hope the ending is as cool as the ending for starcraft.

BTW...

The firebat makes references to king of the hill.
When you click on him reapeatedly he says something like
"Can i interest you in propane?"
"...or propane accessories."

There''s also a reference to the simpsons in level 6 (or 7 i don''t remember) of the terran mission in brood war when the marine goes up to the first computer. It''s the thing about the "any" key.

If you click on the Valkyrie reapeatedly, the last sfx is a horse. Any ideas why they put that in ?!?
