Man, these little buggers are really giving me a problem. About a month or two ago, I got hard contacts. I would''ve gotten soft contacts, but hard ones are better for stabilizing your vision I think. So now I''m finally used to have them in, and I can see really great, no tearing, I barely feel I have them in, but I have problems getting them in! I have to spend 15 minutes in the bathroom e v e r y d a y just to get those things in! I think it''s either because I close my eyes too fast or because I''m not putting them in the right place. Whenever I get them in, it always lands on the iris, not the white part, but the hard part is just getting them in. Do you guys have any suggestions? It really sucks when I''m somewhere where I need to get them in fast and I have to try and try again. Most of my friends say that they got theirs in great after the first week or two, although they all have soft contacts. Any tips? Advice? Thanks.

Got contacts about 2 years ago...

The first time it took almost an hour to get them in, but after a week or two, I was able to get them in at first try, just hang in there, today I can get them in with one hand and without a mirror, it''s just about getting your eyes used to not closing when something touch them.

Mines are soft ones though..

I also had a lot of trouble getting mine in the first few times, which was a couple months ago. Now it only takes a couple minutes. I agree that it''s just a matter of getting over the reflex of your eyes. Unless that''s not what your problem is of course. Oh, and mine are soft as well.

Another thing.

If you''ve got the type of lenses that you use for a month and need to clean every night..

I had a great deal of trouble of turning them right (hurts kinda bad when you put them in the wrong way) the first 3 months, until I realized that I just had to take them out and put them in the tray in a specific way.

When you take them out of you eyes, bend it a little so it''s get detached from the eye, without it actualy curmbling together. Now take a finger on your other han and put it on the end of it. Then simply put that finger down in the cleaning stuff.

When putting them back in, you take the hand you want to use to put it in and put a finger down in the tray and have it attach to it. Take the finger off and grab it with your other hand (without bending it ofcourse). Now it''s inbetween two fingers, just put you other hands finger on the back of it and put it in.

You mean they didn''t tell you how to tell if it''s the right way or not? It''s easy to tell if they''re backwards by just looking at them from the side. And anyway, the OP said he has hard lenses, so this won''t help him anyway (unless I seriously misunderstand the term ''hard''.)
