Well I noticed that everyone who goes to that tutorial, and thank you for keeping it up!, can''t find the source code for the life of them. I took me awhile to find it also, but that''s because I was lucky enough to download them before that user''s website became unavailable. I was wondering if GameDev can host the files officially. (or even have someone maintain the forum officially... maybe the guy who made the win32 Tetris?) That way everyone can download and not be ready to pull their hair out searching for it for hours if not days. note: in case you didn''t realize i mean Teej''s old Tetris forum.

Good idea. Something should be done about that tomb.

A forum dedicated to making tetris?

Personally, I think a would-be programmer would find it much more satisfying if in the end they made a clone entirely from the ground up. I haven''t seen any tetris tutorials, but having made the game myself, if I were to make tutorials it would be stuff like blitting a simple bitmap on screen, move it around with the arrow keys, then double buffer the image, then provide clues on grid based collision detection with simple two dimensional arrays, and so on.

From all that, a person would be able to go ahead and try to make their own clone and will be much more proud in the end for really knowing they did it themselves. But don''t get me wrong, I''m not downing on the ''tetris forum'', after all I have never seen it.

wow...
i thought everyone knew about the Tetris forum here. but since you seem not to know about it
here's the link!

also i'm pretty sure you know about the other tutorial Evil Greven's block faller!

In any case, just to be clear:

1) Have an actual link to the source code for Tetris tutorial in the Hands-On Interactive Game Development, hosted by GameDev.net.
I have the files on hand so uploading them isn't a problem.

2) Have someone actually moderate or at the very least maintain that forum. I vote for Evil_Greven seeing as how he made two tutorials here already.

3) This is for the existing forum, mentioned above, not a new one.

Thanks for reading
