I think that it would be cool to have a multi-part article that described, in detail, of becoming a game programmer. Start with like, learning the code, then move on to more advanced topics. Pretty much start at the beginning and move on to as far as one needs to be to program without the help of tutorials. I know as a beginner myself it would be GREAT help. Also, a series of articles teaching the most popular language, C++ (only the parts that are needed for game programming), would be great for beginners. It sucks ass having to learn most of the language, including so much that you''ll never need to make games. Serikc

Yuo should learn the whole language, because you never know what you will and will not need. Besides, C++ tutorials have been done to death. If you also are gonna do one (and this idea is worth it), I can write some up for various other languages.

If you''re really that anxious to learn how to program, I suggest investing some money in some books. Don''t feel bad about buying a Dummies book for C++, they are the best way to start out. For game programming, I would highly suggest Andre LaMothe''s book "Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus". It''s a fabulous way to learn DirectX and C++ game-oriented programming. If not, then GameDev has some great articles archived as well as Gamasutra. Hope this helps.
