I am using VC++ 6.0 Standard and I''m trying to use the WinInet library to allow my program to interact with the net. I get an error saying that the file "nafxcw.lib" couldn''t be opened. I have searched my computer and my VC++ CD for this file and have not found it. Does anyone know if maybe the standard version of VC6 doesn''t support WinInet and I will have to get the Professional version to have wininet support? I looked on Microsoft''s website and it said that the standard version supports internet programming. If anyone could help me either find out where to download the wininet library or find out how to get it to work, I''d appreciate it. Thanks. Russell

You''re almost right. It''s not that VC6 standard doesn''t support WinInet as such (not that I have any idea what that is, although I can hazard a guess), it''s that "nafxcw.lib" is only included in VC6 professional upwards. It''s the static library for linking with MFC so that whoever uses your app doesn''t have to have mfc42.dll or whatever it is these days. Check your project settings and ensure that it says ''link dynamically with MFC libraries''. (Not the exact wording, I concede) If that doesn''t work, then you may be stuck unless you can upgrade.
