Korea used to have the KCIA (take a guess), but a few years ago they changed the name. Don''t know what it is now. These guys used to deal with North Korean spies and infiltrators if the army captured them alive. And I''m sure they were on a constant hunt for the spies the army didn''t catch.

Australian Federal Police act a bit like a Intelligence Agency. Theres also ASIS which is the external version of ASIO i believe, kind of like USA''s CIA.

I think FBI should be considered an Intelligence agency as well. Don''t forget Military Intelligence - Defence Intelligence Agency. Then there''s that other one that tracks down international criminals.. Interpol.

There''s also a lot of Agencies that have changed there names over the years.

Some of UK''s are
Joint Intelligence Bureau
Secret Intelligence Service (SIS or M16)
Security Service (M15)
Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) which works hand in glove with USA''s NSA
Three separate one for the Army, Navy and Air Force
Joint Intelligence Commitee
the MoD
Joint Intelligence Organisation (JIO)
Current Intelligence Groups (CIGS)

I think ATIC is an american one that stands for Air Technical Intelligence Centre

I forget what China''s one is called now.
I''d like to know what the Space ones are called and which countries have them.

CID - Central Intelligence Department (That''s the CIA of the U.S. Army)

FBI - But that''s more crime investigation than intelligence. But it''s in a lot of movies.

I think The Commission of Science, Technology, and Industry for National Defence is Chinese. It sends agents to the US and Westurn nations as employees of cover organisations - such as the New Era Corp, the Chinese International Trust and Investment Corp and Poly Technologies (CITI). They also invite scientists over to china ostensibly for academic reasons but actually to exploit them for information CITI wants.

MIR - Soviet manned orbiting laboratory, employed for scientific research as well as military acivities, including recon.

MKULTRA - Highly secret CIA research project into the possible use of LSD and other mind-altering drugs to produce the perfect agent.

MOL - Manned orbiting Laboratory

I think you''s will find this interesting...

Psychic Intelligence - Intormation supposedly obtained by paranormal means through extrasensory perception (ESP) or the use of psychic powers. The US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) spent an estimated $20 million on attempts to obtains psychic intelligence for over a decade. The project code named "STARGATE" - started in the 1980''s and continued until 1995, when officials, closing doen the program, admitted the employment or psychics (known as "Remote Viewers") by the DIA and other intelligence agencies.
The Pentagon venture into the paranormal was apparently inspired by Soviet attempts at psychic intelligence gathering. Extensive disclosure of the Soviet experiments came in 1970 with the publication in the United Sates of the book "Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain". The authors, Shela Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder, said that they had interviewed many prominent Soviet scientists who had been working on parapsychology and ESP for many years.
In an experiment that later intrigued US Navy researchers, the Soviets placed baby rabbits in a submerged submarine, inserting electrodes into the brain of the mother rabbit and keeping her in a laboratory on shore. At the exact moment an experiementer killed a baby rabbit in the submarine, the mother''s brain reacted. "There was communication", a Soviet scientist reported. "And our instruments clearly registered these moments of ESP".

Shin Bet - Israels internal security force. Shin and Bet are the names of the first two Hebrew letters of the term Sherut Habitachon Haklali (General Security Service). Shin Bet has had numerous publicized failures; its successes, unlike those of the MOSSAD, have rarely been publicized.

Mossad - Although Israel has had several intelligence agencies, the term Mossad - short for Ha Mossad Le modi''in UleTafkidim Meyuhadim (The institute for Intelligence and Special Tasks) - is invariably used when speaking of speaking of the Jewish state''s intelligence activities. While Mossad has suffered many failures and at times embarrassed Israel, more often it has had stunning successes, many of which have never been publicly revealed.
