Besides saying hello, I was wondering what other sites and books, besides the ones listed/reviewed on this site, people would recommend to a newbie who wants to learn C++? Thanks Richard.

Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus - Andre LaMothe... A must for DirectX programming . Teaches you from beginner up..

Teach yourself C/C++ in 24 Hours - SAMS Publishing... Great resource..

If you want Artificial Intelligence, you should go to Amit Patels site... Just search for "Amit Game Programming" over at Metacrawler and you are there... has lots of things like pathfinding...

If you like Isometric, search (Metacrawler again) for "Game Programmers Galaxy". It is a geocities site, and is a good place to look.

You may also want to search for other sites like "IsometriX" or "Terrain Isometric Engine" (A geocities site, I think at Ridge/6444/)

Other than that, you can read my document by looking at both my programming site and the dedicated site for it...

I hope that I helped you

The 3 sites I use frequently are this one, flipcode.com and gamasutra.com. All are game oriented specifically, but will also have tutorials on programming.
The only C++ book I ever used was C++ primer plus. I don''t have it with me and I don''t remember the author.

Good luck.
