I''m 15 years old, a Freshmen in Highschool, and I am just sick of the crap that goes around in schools today. I am very glad that I only have 4 years left in thos menace, and that I pity my sister, 8 years. Anyways, by crap.. I mean violence. My mom is am E.A. ( Education Assistant ) at a local Elementery school, and came home today furious from her job. Today, the second day of school, a kid was stabbed on a bus, these are freakin ELEMENTERY KIDS HERE.. the details aren''t yet known, and we''ll find out tommorow. What makes it even worse is that the prinipal wasn''t there, he intends to leave early everyday because he feels he can. The school will more than likely be sued, and and principal fired. YES!! I am just here to say that I am sick of reading in newspapers, and on tv, and on the internet of this crap going on everyday in our freakin "Learning Enviroments", I know there is not alot to prevent this, but shit.. come on. Columbine was a mess... only inspired more of the "Secret Killer" to plan out their plans, and maybe strike with more vengfull force. The first grader that killed the other student.. downright sick. Our schools and government can take more actions, school is becoming very scary for many, and these "Learning Enviroments" have only become a battle field filled with knives, guns, and the blood of innocent children who had dreams as well as anyone else. And those dreams will never be filled. God Bless Them. - Eric

It really is sad. My learning enviroment is safe (at least it seems like it). Only been in school for 7 days. My school is very strict. We have this "zero tolerence" policy. I feel sorry for these people and for future students. (i am a freshman too)
I wish there was a button on my monitor to turn up the intellegince. Theres a button called 'brightness' but it doesn't work

Why are guns legal in your country, and drugs not? Is it because drugs can kill?...

I''m just a stupid Dutchman, who just doesn''t get it

Yeah, I can see what your getting at. I live in a small town of 4000 (not 40,000). I have been harassed beyond recognition because I am ''nerdy'' as some might say. I find it hard to learn when some jerk is trying to pester me. I would rather be at home programming...

Hopefully our new principal will lay down the law and not roll over and play dead like the last one. Whenever there was a problem the old principal would play dead so that the kids wouldn''t vandalise his house (its happened to us many-a-time. My dad used to teach at the same school).

It's not only your country this is happening! Aggression is also on the increase on the other side of the ocean What is this world coming to...

Was it the global heating effect that did it? Or did we all watch too much Jerry Springer? Is it because we don't have anything better to do or worry about? A typical case of too much freedom? Or is it just a phase?

Look - if no-one answers all my questions - in half a minute - I'll start killing these cute bunnies!

It makes you sad to to think that even most of the kids AREN''T doing this, the others are punished as well, and we are now treated as inmates at a prison. This world is a scrwed up bowl of jello I can tell ya.

After the columbine incident, our elementary schools started locking all the doors - you had to talk through an intercom at the front doors to get in! The high school I go to almost expelled a kid for having one of those souvinier bullets on a keychain!! I mean, come on!

USA being disgusting, maybe, but it''s always been that way.

The reason that these freak problems seem to be happening is more that there are simply more people, and more people equals more percentage that is messed up, the media has just been keeping up with it now.

To the dutchman:
It''s possibly because of the crazy old-required to be over 45?, most > 60 -white men running the country and the lack of a more direct democracy.

Society is collapsing, just as I have predicted.

Since we''re on the topic, I should mention that I watched that whole Columbine thing live on TV. I had a little bit of a fever, so I decided to stay home. I started feeling a little better in the afternoon, so I went downstairs to watch a little TV, and got sucked in by CNN. If I remember correctly, I actually laughed when I first saw it, because I find the total collapse of our "perfect" society quite amusing.

The next day, when I walked into school, I was welcomed by that dumb bitch of a principal. I was in a rather small school at the time, and she felt it was necessary to give a little speech to each class. Not only did she make so many assumptions about Columbine that she made herself look like a fucking retard, but she blamed everything for the incident except the guilty. She fucking stared me right in the eye as she said they were influenced by videogames, computers, and everything else that has any meaning in my life.

What''s my point? It''s that the only problem with society is society. (And also that my principal was a dumb, communist bitch).

You''re right. After Columbine, our school got anyonomous threat calls to each of our language departments. And even our head of the district was recieveing numerous anyonomous calls about bombs and crap... our whole school was in a frenzy, and only 1/4 of the students showed up, there''s about 1700 of us in the building. A kid did bring a pistol to school though, he said it was for self- defense only. He got expulsion.. dumb bastard.

Afterwards, our school got a prep talk, and stuff... now of course, our school is stricter, and there are more rules. Rules are half of our problems right now, now our generation has to be worried about being stabbed if wearing the wrong type of clothing, getting shot if you give dirty looks, and bullied over crap you can''t control.

Society is gone, and right now, we are defensless against it.

I totally agree with Jonnyfish (and he''s cool anyways, cuz he''s from my territory )
When the columbine incident occured, I was stupid enough (or brave enough) to get suspended. My principal came into the class and told all the students that these ''acts of violence'' are spawns from video games. She went on and on about how video games rot kids minds. So what did I do? I stuck my hand up and I said,
"You''re wrong, getting rid of video games and other similar forms of electronic entertainment will not solve any of the world''s violence problems. Are you saying that wars, bombings and other such acts are created from video games? They''re not! In fact, video games are a good way to release negative energy. Pulling the trigger of a polygonal gun and blowing away some cartoon in 007 on the ''64 is a hell of a lot better solution then pulling a gun out and blowing your brains out. I think you should get your facts straight, Miss Dalmin".

Damn.... I got sent out into the hall and she SCREAMED at me for a good half hour. I guess I deserved it though- about the whole ''blowing your brains out'' thang. I was suspended for 8 days... but she was completely full of shit. She doesn''t know a goddamn thing about video games- her opinion is just being influenced by all the other fuck heads she associates herself with.

Anywho, I also agree that our society is becoming much more unsafe... I mean, I SWEAR I just heard someone call out my name from inside my closet, and now I have a baseball in my hand. Is it because I''m crazy in the head, or that I''m scared that some psycho has broken into my house to rape me like a little a donkey- I dunno, probably both. I''m rambling on here, but I think that our society is in desperate need of help.

*grin* These kinds of situations only arise in the USA, where there is some deluded notion that teachers are better than students, and the one with the highest ranking is ALWAYS right...

But seriously, you guys do live in a country where I''d rather not live. The strength of the NRA lobby is sickening
"Guns don''t kill people, people kill people!"
Well I''d say
"Guns don''t kill people, people with guns kill people.".

It''s all very well to blame society, but what are YOU going to do about it? Roll over and die? Keep complaining in semi-anonymous forums such as this one and Slashdot and the like? Get off your asses, graduate, say "fuck you all", start a geek school where the more you work, the more you are appreciated ( ooh, imagine that! )....

It''s not a lot better here in belgium, but at least there are no guns to be abused when one of the kids has had enough of the elitist crap being thrown at him by the teachers and staff...
It really does seem that everyone in charge is completely ignoring the root of the problem, because they just don''t want to hear it..

Thats why I say that if you take guns away from people, then they have to strangle each other or hit them in a crucial spot... And usually that requires discipline and therefore would be VERY RARE... It is far too easy to pull a trigger... It may be the people behind the gun that does the killing, but a person without a gun is less of a menace than a person with one . Nuff said

No, it is not stupidity (necessarily). I do believe you, but I think that the cause for their blame is fear. Fear in something that they don''t understand (because they didn''t grow up with it... Lets face it, the people complaining about this are old ). They are looking for a scapegoat, and so Computers must obviously be evil. People fear change, and they accuse it of the most stupid things. They did the same with TV, and they will probably accuse mobile phones of spreading Satans message, but who really knows? It is probably just bad parenting that leads to it... That oughto be enough to scare any parent into blaming computers.

WTF ? Do you even know what communism it ? I''m not a communist, but I do realize that it is not the spawn of satan or something. It wasn''t a bad idea.OK, now don''t start flaming please.
By the way, I think that TV and games do influence us, but not that much. But the fact that in the USa it''s so easy to get a weapon is a major reason for all this crap. And to all the people who say "knives kill too" :
A) knives can also be used for other things.Guns only kill.
B) Knives don''t have bullets - they can''t kill at a distance
C) Killing with knives is "messy" - with a gun you just pull a trigger

Please, no flaming !!!!!!
