free mp3 source / lib ???
Well you can look into some Linux Mp3 players as they are all open source. But the problem with that is unless your game is "Freeware" you must pay a licencing fee to use the MP3 format in a commercial (sellable) product. I believe its about $3,000 for a licence. The only way around this little fee is to use Microsofts Media Player to play your Mp3's. Good Luck.

The media player also isnt too happy about playing MP3s anywhere except off the HD, which is a problem if you want real time, split second sounds without a lot of HD accessing...

There is source for mp3 stuff at this mp3 site: http://www.dailymp3.com
