Well ... the cynical scientist in me tells me that love is nothing more but a primordial urge induced by chemicals, it is necessary to ensure the survival of the species ... but since that’s just to darn depressing I’ll listen to the other side of me, who tell me that love is just one of those things that makes life worth living.

Words are wholly inadequate to describe love. It is beyond logical comprehension and explanation.
The best answer I can give is purely personal, and necessarily vague. It destroyed me. Immediately, it then rebuilt me anew. It continues to change my life. A very awesome energy.

Love seems to be a term we confusingly use to refer to several different feelings, as follows:
I want to jump your bones.
I want to cuddle you and make it all better.
I need you to cuddle me and admire my work and tell me I''m a good and important person.
You''re the only other real person besides me.
I want to show you all my cool stuff and teach you all the neat things I know.
You don''t need to feel all of these to love somebody - the love you feel for a child, for example, would be missing the first and fourth aspects. Romantic love is supposed to have them all, though.

Hey now jonnyfish, I didn’t say that. I merely said that it was one way to look at it. Since your view of the emotion love, like most other things in life, is based upon each persons particular perceptive of it. And so all views are equal and none are wrong ... At least that''s what I think.
Jonnyfish, I''m just curious. If love can be defined purely in terms of chemical reactions (I''m inclined to think it can), do you think it''ll someday be possible to recreate the capacity to love someone in an artificial life form of some sort, or even a computer? That would be very strange... I don''t think I''d care to see such a thing happen, but I''m just curious to know what you, or anyone else, thinks about that.

Philos: is the thing that you feel for battle companions, what you feel for you friends. what i feel for you guys.
Eros: the feeling that atracts the souls that have origin in the same soul ( soul are like bacterias, but they divide in two parts a masculine and a feminine). what you feel for the woman of you life( or man)
Agapé: what you gonna feel when you finish your game. what god is made of.

True Romantic love is the feeling of knowing that regardless of any chemicals in your brain, when you get old and decrepit, you still want to be standing next to that person into who''s eyes you are staring.

That''s a good way of putting it. Although I imagine that when I''m old and decrepit, I''ll be a bitter, cynical old man who''s still blaming all his problems on Microsoft.
