It''s a very good book, but not for beginners in game programming, as you must at least have a little knowledge of Windows API programming and DirectX programming.
But the book goes from planing a game to introduce you to how to use DirectX5-7 Api''s and create a simple game. And with the book there are severel exam wich shows you how to use DirectX in Delphi environment. So are you at least a little familiar with Windows programming, then go and get the book. But remember, it does only cover 2D enverionment, not 3D. Good Luck!

When I started DirectX programming in Delphi, there were no Delphi-specific books on the topic available. So I got myself ''Inside DirectX'' (Microsoft Press). Sure, all the code and samples are in C, but it is easy enough to translate. I have recently purchased ''Teach Yourself DirectX7 in 24 hours'' and found it to be very helpful, as well as including a few chapters on Direct3D. Again, all the code and samples are in C.

There are far more resources for DirectX programming available in C, so why not use them?

I bought the book and it comes with a full version of Delphi 4. Only problem is I can''t find the key to install it. Does anyone know where on the CD or in the book the key is.

I am not asking for the key, just where it is located.

Thanks

Thanks Marco,

I just received a reply from an email I sent Wordware and they told me the same thing.

Thanks again.
