Hey you guys, I found this very good (I think) compiler for C and C++. It's not only a compiler, you can write the program or the game and then compile and run it. You can download it here: http://www.bloodshed.nu/devc.html
And also you can check out some other compiler under the section "Compilers" on the left side. Even though it says you can register for $20, it's still FREE you don't have to register. And not only compilers, they have a lot of other useful things.
Hope I helped some of you with your compiler problems.
Oh and by the way if you have any trouble with it, there is a forum.

I think you can, because after you compile the file I think you have to go to DOS for some reason. I'm not relly sure because I have some problems with my DOS, so when I try to compile some thing there is some kind of a DOS file and I can't use it until I fix my DOS. You can ask the creators of the compiler here in this forum: http://www.bloodshed.nu/bbs/
Hope it helped

I think dev-c++ is quite good. It''s not as powerful or bug free as the latest offerings from microsoft, but the up front price of ''free'' is pretty tasty!

Dev-C++ is not a compiler. It''s an IDE! But it does come with a free compiler: gcc.

Oh oh... i think i''m trolling... and i like it!

Is this compiler as good as DJGPP ?

can it create DOS programs as well ?

Not GCC, mingw.

I was under the impression that mingw is just a different port of GCC which in turn is djgpp or at least the same program used by djgpp

MinGW is just like GCC, but it has windows libs instead of unix/linux/etc. ones, and it works on windows.

Im a student, and have NO money. I use Dev-C++ and it owns. You can even import VS files.
