I have completed a demo version of my game and am 99% programmer and my 1% artist is not good. The Game: A very simple Breakout clone which I am using to enhance my game and programming portfolio. This game will be published both on the internet and physically distributed (see The Pay). The Credit: Anyone who works on the project will have obvious mention in the credit (as it is a two person development team :). The Pay: Straight out... This will not be a hugely profitable endeavour. However, I am licensing the final product to eGameZone (http://www.egamezone.net) who will distribute online and physically in a gaming bundle. Royalties for the small amount of profit made can be negotiated (if any) and I will go 50-50. Help Wanted: I need an artist to design a set of tiles (standard 32 x 32), some enticing background images (800 x 600), and a couple of good looking power-ups. Anyone interested in pursuing this further please e-mail me at tjsmith@darkfantasygames.com. Thanks in advance. Hi I sent a zip file and email to your email address but being a large file it may show as bulk mail so let me know if you recieved it or if not I can send again. Also if you could post a few more details of what you'd really like to see graphic wise and I should be able to do just about anything you'd like! TA

Hey, thanks for the reply.

If you could upload the file to my FTP, it'd be greatly appreciated:

ftp://ftp.darkfantasygames.com/

Thanks. In response to what I am looking for, maybe some "techno" backgrounds (something you'd see in an oldschool RPG or something). Be creative, I'm sure anything is better than my graphics.

Thanks again.

i wanna clue you in on something. Breakout gamesdont rely on predefined values. Yours is very wrong and very buggy. Im not trying to be mean but im just addressing these issues. Usually when you hit the ball with the edge of the paddle in breakout it would go wickedly fast shooting to the side edges. While in yours it quietly and boringly follows the same path, the "flow" never changes. Even when I tried to do the thing with the edge of the paddle sometimes the ball even went inside the paddle, glitched itself through (to the other end) and into the empty blackhole of death. Now, thats just gameplay (cept for the last one). There are prob a lot more bugs then I found playing for around 2 minutes. One like I said just above, two is that the ball can "sink" into the walls. It was actually kind of funny seeing th eball in the wall slowly going up and down, then finally getting past the white brick and down that lil "cheap" pathway.

Like I said, im real sry if I sounded harsh. Really! I do mean it, I know you already prob know about these bugs, and it just pisses you off when ppl mention it over and over but dont get mad over something like this (if you even did get mad...) Im just stupid. =D

Now, about the job, I can produce 3d graphics for you if you want. Well, prerendered 3d graphics, for the backgrounds and such. Then 3d animations for power ups and the ball. I would really like to work with you on this, seeing how good this game could get. Email me at iamthom@hotpop.com if you wanna talk to me some more (or just post on here some more). I also have aim if you have it, my s/n is Urnoarmedfriend.

p.s. sry for the long-ass post
