Is there any open source engines similar to Torque? That is it supports everything needed to make a game (it seems most engines are just rendering engines).

AFAIK only OGRE is a rendering engine-only setup, whereas the Nebula Device, NeoEngine, Irrlicht, etc are all complete setups. Not sure where you get your info.

edit: Let's not forget Crystal Space or Jet3D

The networking componant of Torque is actually open sourced, you can find it here.

AFAIK you're free to mod the Torque demo as much as you like?

In theory that's a great thing, but unfortunately you're rather limited with what you can accomplish with TorqueScript alone. Someone actually wrote a TorqueScript editor using TorqueScript, so it *is* a versatile scripting language. But any serious game projects will ultimately find a need to tinker with the engine itself for one reason or another.
