I emailed a direct3d program to a buddy, the program compiles perfectly on my computer in Visual C++ 5.0, but on my friend''s comp it gives him errors. He is using Visual C++ 6.0, I think that might have something to do with it. I have no idea what''s up. My comp compiles the file slicker then snot on a doorknob. Anyone have any idea what wrong? Here are the errors --------------------Configuration: tests - Win32 Debug-------------------- Compiling... Cpp1.cpp c:\downloads\cpp1.cpp(34) : error C2146: syntax error : missing '';'' before identifier ''lpdd'' c:\downloads\cpp1.cpp(34) : error C2501: ''LPDIRECTDRAW7'' : missing storage-class or type specifiers c:\downloads\cpp1.cpp(34) : fatal error C1004: unexpected end of file found Error executing cl.exe. tests.exe - 3 error(s), 0 warning(s)

Your buddy has an old version of D3D headers and libs. Ask him to get a new ones and dont forget to change "library directory" and "header directory" to point to the new version (Tools/Options/Directories)

Yeah, I used to get errors like that when I was trying to make DX7 work. Try reinstalling it, and then go through and make sure the headers and libraries are pointed to and are at the top of the lists.

I don''t know which of those two steps made DX7 work on my machine, but after doing both it worked.

Good luck!

Those aren''t bugs! They''re undocumented features!
