Hi! I have a problem with a MFC application. I want to have a dialog box that will take input focus and don't return it before the dialog is closed (i.e. pretty much a modal dialog). However I also want to update a progress bar within the dialog since quite some processing is to be carried out by the window. What is the most conveinient way doing this? Is there a way of override the app's message loop and breifely put it in the dialog or do I have to make some multithreading to get this work? // Thanks

Well, you can always brute-force hijack WM_KILLFOCUS and force focus back to your window.

Personally I prefer to put that sort of thing in the frame or a dialog bar though.

Well my code started to grow so I thougt it would be neat to move some bits out of the frame and group them in a dialog. What I want is a type of dialog that you often see during program installations, a progress bar and an abort button.

I've never used a dialog bar so I will have to look into that. Do you have any further hints maybe?

// Thanks again
