How do i setup VS.Net to build a managed DX application? I've added the referance to Microsoft.DirectX.dll and Microsoft.DirectX.DirectPlay.dll; however, when i go to build the solution i'm told: Additional information: File or assembly name Microsoft.DirectX.DirectPlay, or one of its dependencies, was not found. How do I fix this?

Uhm.. Because this is a DirectX question, maybe it would be more effecient to ask it in the DirectX forum?? :P

And I have no idea.

I think the includes are Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D and the like you shouldn't have the .dll part.

I remember that you have to add the dlls to the references. That's about all I remember from my 2 days of using DX with c#

The old Managed DirectX SDK comes with a wizard to create a managed DirectX application. Start with that, and all the references are correctly set up already.

The new SDK (RC0) foregoes the wizards; instead they claim it'll have sample applications that you can "install" into your source directory, and it'll copy/rename the appropriate files.
