I am a first time designer just looking for a programmer who knows what he''s doing but is not in a rush to start some big project. I live in Minnesota and just want to know someone''s there to help me after I finish a design. Think of this as a hands on learning oportunity. And as for all the advanced developers out there, any info on starting a team for first timers is very welcome. Thanks all.

How big is your design document going to be?
And what sort of game is it going to be?

Not that big, since it''s my first and I''m not sure exactly how ot should be. I just want someone who will understand that I''m ignorant and stand me. It''ll probably be a small 2d rpg at first. How does that sound for starters?

I am willing to help.

Right now I am very busy with work and school so my programming time is somewhat limited, so I think I would be able to work at the same pace as you.

I have programmed three or four game engines before but never an RPG style game, it would be something new and interesting.

Let me know what sort of style you are thinking of creating.

Couple of pointers:

1) Make sure you guys are compatible. A good designer/programmer pair can take a game a long way if they get to know each other well.

2) Check out some design doc templates, but don''t adhere too rigidly to them. The purpose of the doc is to mainly give your team a guideline as to where the game''s going. Do it in the way you think your team can work with it best.

3) Have fun The rest all depends on where you want to go with it all. Just take some time to get your feet wet for like 3 months or so as an internet team. Play some online games together, chat....if you''ve got some kind of bond formed it''ll be a lot better for everyone in the long run
