Hello, I recently noticed that I just can use the fullscreen mode in DirectX, but actually, I would like to use a window for my engine-editor. How can I do that? (and is there a way to use my voodoo in windowed-mode)? Thank you very much.

what voodoo do you have - 1 and 2 and rush can''t be use in windowed mode.... if you have better voodoo then you can use it for windowed app...

Thanks for the information, but I also wonder how to use that windowed-mode with normal graphic-cards (no voodoo, no 3d-accelartion) but with direct3d.

Set cooperative level to normal,
create primary surface,
create back buffer as big as window,
create Direct3D device,
draw, draw, draw,....

Straight out of the D3d documentation

HRESULT ShowFrame()
{
if( NULL == g_pddsPrimary )
return E_FAIL;

// We are in windowed mode, so perform a blit from the backbuffer to the
// correct position on the primary surface

return g_pddsPrimary->Blt( &g_rcScreenRect, g_pddsBackBuffer,
&g_rcViewportRect, DDBLT_WAIT, NULL );
}
