XP trouble

I seem to be having some trouble with a pc running on xp home edition. It seems that when I install the DirectX9 reditributable Windows tells me that this programm doesnt have the digital winxp logo. Basically it says its not compatible but unlike normally it doesnt ask wether I want to continue anyway. Very strange huh, I mean DirectX is a microsoft product just like XSP!!!!! How can I disable this test windows is doing. Thanks in advance. -CProgrammer

Most likely you're seeing a message telling you a device driver isn't logo tested. If I go into dxdiag, a few of my drivers are like that - no big deal.

The strange part though Jim is that it appears that it isnt letting him continue, which is wierd. Its just saying it doesnt have the digital winxp logo and not letting him go any further.

Exactly boolean. It's not letting me continue.
It just says that it didn't pass the windows logo test. Really strange and a pain.

Im about to go to sleep (heh, ive been saying that for 2 hours now), but I found this. I didnt get a chance to read through it all, but it sounds like the same problem you are having.

OMG, thank you very much.
The link had the answer. For those interested that don't want to read it all. Just delete the content of system32/CatRoot2 or as in the text rename it and windows will create a new version.
