I have it a try. Loaded up my app ~500 files in 5 projects. It seemed to find warnings ro errers in about every second file. rand is depricated here, blah depricated there, ambiguious this, worse the Solution conversion wizard works about as well as the VS6->.NET one did, ie it skips half the settings and changes others to bizzard defaults, turning off exceptions, al my single treaded code suddely bacame defines as multithreaded. Sure it's only a beta... I'd say however that the conversion cost will be pretty large for anyone with anything other than small programs. I found a few interesting things but overall I don't think for now that the older IDE's suck enough to drop at this point. Perhaps I'll look again when retail arrives...

The reason the compiler found warnings and errors in your code is that its even more standards compliant than its predicessor vs.net 2003.

Try compiling some ATL code, it complains about that as well. Looks like its time for you to fix some bugs in your code:)

It does complain a lot, but once you take care of the errors it should work perfectly fine. I get a lot of "deprecated" errors, but I ignore them and it continues to function.

I want to know what non-deprecated alternatives there are to the functions that are deprecated (and they better do the exact same thing)...

May I ask, how did you get the beta?
