I am new to DirectX programing. However I have been useing OpenGL for quite some time now but I was wondering how you use alpha blending in Direct Draw. I would really like to get a tutorial or just an answer would help.

DirectDraw doesn''t have alpha blending yet (probably never). You can use a Direct3D technique to fake it though.

A good deal of alpha blending is also done with locking the surface and accessing the memory directly.
