I'm just using DevC++5 for now because that's the only version of DevC++ that works on my computer right now (new Dell computer running WinXPPro). Just curious, the only way to insert a new file into a devc++ project (console specifically) is to New->File etc. This always is just a file. No syntax highlighting or nothing. Can you do something like you do in MSVC++ where you can insert a new file prescpecified as something? Or do you always have to save the file right after you make it if you want the special cases for a C++ file?

Right-click on project name (in the left-hand pane)->New File. Automatically has highlighting, at least in 4.9.8.9. I save it right away anyway, so it really doesn't matter :).
