Boredom + Cool toys = Stupid movie

Heh, I know it's bad, but nobody has any comments? Tons of people have downloaded it.

I tried, but the server is slow. I'm not gonna wait 30 minutes for this crap...heh.

That robot has some nice moves. Remote-controlled? I bet it's pretty expensive.

Yeah, my web server just hasn't got that much umph. (It's 384Kbps up, but typically I get less than that on average.) I have a PacketShaper attached to it, so at least the site doesn't completely go offline when it gets hammered.

Tommy: Yeah, entirely remote controlled. It can dance, burp, punch, throw, etc. It's actually $99, which isn't super-cheap but completely affordable. I've gotten more use out of this thing scaring the cat than with something like a $2000 Abio. :)

The night I bought it and tried it out, I was like, "Holy poop, I could make a movie with this thing!" And things went from there. I needed the video editing experience.

Here's the website for the robot. Pretty cool stuff. It's based upon Mark Tilden's BEAM robots, which uses very simple analog-driven circuits to control the robot. This, instead of expensive, brittle digital electronics. (While the robot is dancing or moving, you can yank the arms and legs around and it'll smoothly recover, so no stripped gears, nor will it try to break off your fingers if you try to hold an arm down. Pretty safe for kids.)
