I used to have a nvidia card and i was using these profiles for my cg shader VertexProfile = CG_PROFILE_VP20; FragmentProfile = CG_PROFILE_FP20; I now have a ati card and they no longer work. do i have to use different ones now. Anyone know a site that lists all the profiles?

Just use CgGetOptimalProfile() - or whatever it's called, something like that anyway.
If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

Ahh found it thanks. Quick off the topic thing my visual studios has gone crazy it's recompiling everytime instead of just compiling the changes. Anyone know how to stop this. I didn't change anything it just started doing that when i put my new video card in.

python_regious is right, use the most current profile, but the reason CG_PROFILE_VP20 and FP20 won't work is because they're nVidia specific. The one you're getting back from Cg is probaby ARBVP1 and ARBFP1.
