Hi, I got some sample code of an JOGL program off the net. When I go to compile it, i get these errors in the debug window, i think its because I am somehow not setting whatever up properly.
Quote:

Could someone please give me an idea, thanks.

I've never delted with JOGL, but have you tried messing with
window\preferences\java\Classpath Variables to match your JOGL path?
(just a shot in the dark!)

hey dude,

I'm right where you are right now, however it was working fine for a while. Here's one of the best pages you should look at :
here

and also look here.

under the jogl bindings forum. You should get the jogl / native Jars from online, and put them in the right folders. The first link tells you how. Also, in your project in eclipse, right click your project ( the folder icon ) -> properties -> java build path, you can add files manually there. Don't forget the DLLs for your OS.

oh i didnt have the dlls

but i see that there are macintosh dlls, win32 dlls, i thought using opengl on java would work on any computer, am i wrong here?

thanks

the DLLs are the native interface to your particular OS, as you should already know that the Java VM has a different build for each OS. Java itself runs identically on each OS, but under the surface, it must translate itself to the OS.

ah ok, so if i want this to be available to everyone, i should just put all the different os's dll types in my programs folder?

A better idea would be to use Webstart, then you can set the different files needed for each platform. Not only is it much easier for the user (and less error prone) but it means they'll get a smaller download as they only get the files they need and no more.
