I''m gonna root for Canada because I have a friend who went to the Olympics and is on the team. I forget what she is competing in, but her name is Alicia Kaye- if you ever see her, take notice to how sexy she is
She''s from Pickering Ontario BOYZ! BOHHHHH YAH, RUFF RUFF RUFF,

Everything here is time-delay, so the only thing I've seen so far are the opening ceremonies. From one Atlantan - you guys win. It was great. Beautiful country too.
I hadn't thought about it until one of the American announcers mentioned it last night, but its interesting that the last two summer games have been held in former British penal colonies.
I love the Olympics - I had planned to avoid seeing or hearing about any results until I could watch them at night. I figured I would avoid the Sports page of the paper - so I pick up the paper this morning and the front page has a banner headline about an American winning a Gold. I don't know what they expect us to do.

I''ve been watching the olympics now for about 4 hours straight, it''s great! Ian Thorpe was awesome, and I just finished watching the women''s triathlon.

Ahh, and don''t forget the hockey teams, both of which are set for gold.
And Yes! we are still at the top of the medal tally!
How funny was it when Klim and co. started playing imaginary guitars after they won the relay! That''ll teach you! Smash us like guitars eh? not likely!
The opening ceremony... well it was okay, but the best thing about it was the chants of AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI OI OI that just gave it a truly australian feel.

What I want to know is where is good old aussie rules football. Not as an olympic event, sure, but what about at the opening ceremony? We need to alert the world of this wonderful game or else they may live their entire lives in the dark! What a shame that would be!

I saw the soccer the other night, Australia vs Nigeria. Even though Australia lost 3-2 it was a really exciting game. It doesn''t really matter as technically I''m English even though Australia has been my home for basically all my life. The atmosphere was awesome. I''m always quite cynical of the Olympics and the commercialism that goes with it, but this was a great experience. Probably the best soccer game that Australia would have played, and I saw it live!!!
Well considering I live approx 30 mins away from the Olympic action, I haven''t bothered to go into Sydney and have a look at what''s happening, think I might go on Sunday. The Olympics has been giving me the shits for the last 6 months, then I saw the Opening Cemermonie and I''m proud of having the Olympics so close now. And yes us Aussies will kick ass!!!!! And Thorpe''s mother feeds him Guruana Tablets I''m sure of it

Watched Thorpedo get Silver a little while ago... Cool
I was a little disappointed by the media boasting that all he has to do is turn up to wind gold... The flying dutchman did really well. I really happy for him... he look REALLY happy about winning... Thorpe''s looking a little tired.. Apparently he mother was on TV earlier today saying that he has barely any sleep since before the games started...Poor kid.
In case the rest of you guys(internation) didn''t know he''s 17, still in school,(I guess that mean''s person tut) and does a load of work giving motivation talks to school kids. So I guess that one reason why ozzies go nuts where ever he goes... He''s a really nice guy.
Kind a weird going to work in all this.. one minute the roads\trains are empty, the next you can''t move. (I live near the regatta site and work in the CBD)
Oh, we can''t forget the excellet effort put in by the shooting guy...crap don''t even know his name. Apparently his accuracy was near perfection...
I can''t believe the weather... we''ve just come out of winter... 2 weeks ago it was cold and windy..

Oh and in case you cant get through to the website

Country Gold Silver Bronze Total
United States 4 5 2 11
France 4 3 1 8
Australia 3 2 4 9
China 3 1 5 9
Japan 2 2 0 4
Turkey 2 0 0 2
A bunch of more results came in, for us that adds another 2 silver and 1 more bronze... good to see Leisel. I saw a special on her recently apparently she''s our teams youngest... well done...

I like see''ing anyone win really, so long as they seem genuinely happy about winning and respect the peopel they beat... There''s nothing worse than a "I won because I''m the best..." kind of athlete.
Oh, and Russia.... try smiling when the camera points your way

I find the olympics interesting. they tout it as a way to bring nations closer together and to try to get rid of national biases, but all they are doing is making it worse as they pit each nation against each other.
