Bad Graphics Performance

I formatted my PC the other day, and once Windows XP was back up and running I re-installed my GeForce FX 5200 drivers (the exact same ones as before the format), however the performance of the card has fallen a lot. I've ran several different games and apps all showing about a 30% drop in frame rate. No matter what combination of settings I set the card to it's still slower than before, whats going on? Thanks for the help

If you have the latest drivers, when did you install them? Before or after microsofts audo update installs some nvidia driver? You probably wont even know unless you chose ask to download, ask to install.

I installed the official nvidia driver after the MS one, and I think it's fine.
