I realised that all my life I wanted to build some simplistic electronical toy (such as a RC helicopter), but never had the tools/materials. Now that I live in the land of the free home of the brave, and have a 7 USD/hour job, I can afford to buy some tools and materials, so I want to satisfy this dream of mine. I realise that building a RC helicopter is not a n00b task, so I decided to start with a car first. I want it to be solar powered, and also have rechargable batteries. I am a n00b at electronic stuff (but I know the basic concepts, and my father is an electronist engineer, so he can help me with various troubleshooting/suggestions), so I have a lot to learn. Anyway, I wonder, do you know any micro contoller that is especially made for RC toys? Or one that can be used for such purpose? I was thinking of using a Z80 for that, but it might be overkill. Also, do you know some good sites on this subject? (I know, I can search on google, but if you already know some good resources on this it would be appreciated). Oh, and I want to build everything by myself, including the design. I don't want to buy a kit.
