Hello. I have tried several things, but would like to know the best and fastest way to do this. I was wondering how to make a 3D rotating camera in my engine. It just came up that we want one, so I would like to put it in. Our main view is a set RTS standard view (for demo purposes it is at x45°, y45°, and z45°) We also are going to add a FPS view camera. But the 3rd and final view is the 3D floating camera. What is the best way to go about that? We are doing all of our rendering in DirectX 7.0a to 8.0 (16 bit). Thanks in advance! ======= ~Khaos~ =======

You could just use the standard View matrix from DirectX... just read the Help Files

Yeah I know, and I did, but I really didn''t like it all to well. That''s why I was wondering if there was another way. But I will just try to optimize it in some way. Thanks anyhoo!

hi!

I put some information about rotations here: http://www.makegames.com/3Drotation. This is sneak preview. I''m presenting the paper at XGDC this weekend. There is some code there too, but I just wrote it last weekend, so let me know if you see any problems in it. (I think it''s okay, but if there''s any bugs, just tell me, don''t flame me, ok? )

This is good stuff, so take a look.
