If you were to die right now....

If I were to die right now, there would be nobody to save the Earth from hellish demons from mars. Oh wait, that's just the video game. Must get back to Real Life (patent pending by several thousand lawyers).

That is why I told the team I am working on. If you don't hear from me for a week, I am 99% most likely dead...

I doubt those things will matter to you if you die anyway.

Perhaps it's one of these many, many things (like World Peace) which is better addressed at a personal level rather than a extra-personal level (ok I just made that up, and I don't really know how to explain it so I may as well just leave the thread now). edit: Okay maybe I can explain it. I doubt it will make much sense. Hey! The admin icons loaded for me. That might be a good sign - not that they will show up when I post. Anyway! Take the world peace issue: instead of changing everyone else, it would be much much much easier if we just focused on improving ourselves for the benefit of others. Maybe this doesn't apply to this situation - I was going to say that perhaps we should all assume that if we havn't heard from certain online associates after so much time we should just assume that they are dead, and move on - but that's just assuming the worst.

Everyone should have a dead man's switch. Make it so if you don't check in in a month or so it automatically posts on GDev that you have died. That way everyone knows.

Brilliant. If you don't post in a month, you'll get a tag that says you're ill, after 6 months, terminally ill, after a year it says you're dead, and if you post while you're dead you become undead, i.e., a zombie.

I wonder about this sometimes as well. My fiance would be the first, then my boss, then parents. My friends would think I was just doing something with my fiance if I didn't talk to them in a couple weeks.

If you set up a dead man switch to tell everyone you are dead, its best to set up another dead man switch to remind you to switch it off. I've heard of people coming back from vacation and everyone thought they were dead because they got a dead man's email.

I think about this kind of thing a lot. I am so paranoid. Anyway, if I were to die right now...

...I suppose they would do something at school in memorial of me every year, say things about me, say what grade I would be in, etc...

...People I know in any online games I play will think I quit and did not get a chance to tell them...

...Otherwise, no, no one would really notice or anything...
