Hey, I''ve come across something wierd. Although the function SetDisplayMode() is supposed to have five params (width, height, bpp, refresh, flags) right? Well for some reason I can''t compile a program like this: lpdd7->SetDisplayMode(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SCREEN_BPP, 0, 0); Instead, I get an error saying the function does not accept five params. When I shortened it to this: lpdd7->SetDisplayMode(SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SCREEN_BPP); The program works! Why? I checked the DXSDK docs and no changes were made for the version 7 functions. I''m stumped... ============================== \\// live long and prosper; \||/ die short and rot. ==============================

In MSVC++, go to the tools menu, options... click the directories tab and make sure that your DX7SDK folder for headers is at the top, and do the same for libraries with the libraries combo box entry.
