hi, i read an article about using direct3d im for 2d .thats sounds great.Because everone has a 3d graphic card and we can use its alpha blending features for 2d style game.the speed of 3d card combining with directdraw surfaces ,it is very good opinion so i do not need asm optimizations for blending operations. but the hell is going on with im architecture... d3ddevice.SetRenderState(D3DRENDERSTATE_ALPHABLENDENABLE, true); this line gives me error for true parameter, cause it gives me that it must be cardinal, not a boolean...what is the going on that you know?

Just pass 1 istead of true.

Microsoft called it BOOL but it is in truth just an int. Microsoft compilers have therefore TRUE and FALSE in addition to true and false (you cannot mix them with most compilers).

Edit: Grammar

You can also write: DWORD(true)

It''s better because there are so many words where you don''t know the integer number, so with "DWORD" you transform the Word into the integer.

thanks for all your replies,

i solved it, you know td3drenderstatetype is enumarated type so i used it ord function to get its value of all its parameters..

I thought we agreed
no blatant advertising, anon. man.
Anyways, I was meaning to ask anyways - would you be willing to add our two libraries together? More is better, in my opionion. I did get D3D for Ddraw working, but I stopped working on it when I started a true 3d RTS.
Oh well, code on.
