Just want to drop a note that the basic forum search as it is, is pretty useless. I think this is a real problem on this forum most of all, seeing as there's a lot of useful information here, but often it's impossible to actually find it. I think a new search system needs to be built that's a billion times more powerful. I'm sure you already know this, and it's no doubt been mentioned and discussed before, but I'll mention it again anyway. Here are a few changes I've thought of off the top of my head that I'd like to see happen to the search system here: -The ability to search between two specified dates, like we have when searching for posts by a specified user. -The ability to select a group of forums to search in, not just an all or one system. -The ability to filter results by rating. -Sorting of results, by member, date, forum, and so on. -The filter posts by username search to be integrated back into the main search system. The main thing that's needed from my point of view is either more of an ability to screen out posts based on thier posting date, or sorting the results based on posting date. Anyway, yeah. My 2c.
