'WH40k - Dawn of war' intro

yeah, the intro rocks, 2nd best one i've seen imo only topped by Freespace's intro :D

A Warhammer 40K movie would be sweet if they got it right, so thats large fights, plenty of heavy weaponary and blood and ofcourse all CGI [grin]

It also finally answers those old, "why don't they shoot sargeants in the head"-type questions. Turns out they do. The end bit with the flag (I'll not spoil it), is beautiful whether you're into 40k or not.

I agree. Haven't watched the intro yet (in the process of downloading it), but I've always thought that WH40K could be made into a great SciFi action movie if done with a big enough budget. Maybe something for Peter Jackson?

True to both... WH40k would make an awesome movie, and the intro is friggin' awesome... :D

I can't fathom why Peter Jackson is doing King Kong. But yeah, the W40K universe does look like a good resource to tap.

Indeed. I watch the intro through everytime I play. A Warhammer 40k movie would be most awsome. My only fear is they'd butcher it like they did Starship Troopers.

Oh, did anyone notice the nice up close and personal blood splatter on the camera lense effect.

I loved the Diablo II movies. So awesome. I watched the intro movie for that game a bajillion times. It was confusing at first, though after playing the game it makes more and more sense.

If they do make a WH40K movie, I hope they show the imperial palace on earth. I just want to see what a single building the size of a mountain looks like.

Apprently my copy has been shipped by Amazon, however as the time stamp on the email was 23:20 I probably wont have it before Saturday [sad]

Theres already a mod out for it (aswell as for Necrons and other races) with completed models etc.

Also, I'm guessing that theres quite a big chance therell be an addon with more units/races.

I have the beta test copy (can get all the units, and play as all four armies) and cant wait to get full game.

I've always wanted to play like Table top WH40k, just such a vast universe I think it would be awesome. But I could never have painted the pieces, or bothered with reading the huge rule books.

But I'm still blown away by it's awesomeness.

Enh, it was always too much dice rolling for me. Somehow I'd always get bad rolls.. it didn't just seem like it, I mean I'd have a squad of space marines against half a squad of equally powered chaos space marines and I'd get bad dice rolls and lose.. every time.. with no exception. Statistically bizarre..

As for the video. not only does it looks freakin' cool, it's also one of the most realistic CG videos i've ever seen.

I downloaded the demo last night and played it til 3am. It's quite an impressive game. Not only was the intro cinematic awesome, but the in game graphics are beautiful. Not to mention I've never seen a game with such detail in combat. I'm buying the full version today.

Most importantly, a movie could have TITANS :D:D:D:D

A friend downloaded the demo a couple of weeks ago, we were totally blow away by the intro. We watched it repeatedly until my brother and another mate pressured us into playing counter strike... otherwise we would have carried on watching :D

Other intro movies that rank highly I recon are the Mechwarrior series and the Red Alert 2 intro.

And I agree, a 40k movie would be cool. I remember hearing something about one a few years ago, and never hearing anything about it again. I guess nothing came of it.
