OMFG KERRY iS A CHEATZOR! Big deal. It was probably just a pic of his butt ugly wife to help him stay focused. OMFG teh demokratz secrkt weapon!!!!11`1. but seriously, what could be on one piece of paper that could make or break a debate? and the fact that Dudge reported it makes him look even less compitant.

Apparently you haven't been paying attention.

The Bush campaign has no actual merit, so they simply have to point at everything Kerry does and protest over it.

This shouldn't be news to anyone anymore. :P

it was a cue card for his global test initiative.

really who cares.... a cheat sheet can't be that long (especially on a index card, assuming that's what it was) and also even if he did have a cheat sheet that's not gonna break or make the debate. the articulation and logic will. which Kerry definitely showed that night.

also obviously a cameraman and both parties were watching the tape(s) so why didn't someone go and alert and moderator of they saw?

It was a cyanide tablet. In the event that Dick Chaney and his band of cyborgs broke in and took him hostage, Kerry would take the cyanide tablet to prevent Chaney from stealing the secret ketchup formula from his brain.

I don't know why but that made me think of Cheney as Plankton and Kerry as the spongebob robot when he was trying to steal the secret formula for Krabby Patties.

EDIT: And I think we can all agree spongebob would do much better in office than plantok anyday :)

Drudge proved himself to be complete incompetent and devoid of anything resembling "fair" reporting when he tried to accuse Kerry of having an affair earlier this year and was forced to retract it. He's lost all the credibility that he ever had.

The desperation of the hard-core libophobes is heartening. It's much too early to tell, but the house of cards might actually be in danger of collapsing. That's the most optimistic thought I've had for this country for a long time.

There's a dumb thing about this with Bush too. There is a part in the debate where Bush says "let me finish" when nobody interuppted him and his time wasn't over, as if he was speaking to somebody that was feeding him information in an earpiece. It's equally as dumb.

Yeah, to quote myself from the SNL Debate Parody thread

Quote:

Have you guys heard about this: Bush Blows Debate: Talks to Rove in Earpiece!

Quote:

During the Presidential Debate Bush made what may be his most costly error- he exposed that he’s using an earpiece to help him answer debate questions.

In the middle of an answer bush said, "now let me finish" as if someone was interrupting him - yet nobody did - he was talking to the person in his earpiece.
...
I’ve been thinking for years that we need something major to blow this scam wide open, like Bush exposing himself on national tv. Last night he did just that.

The ’let me finish’ quip was clearly bush talking to someone (probably Rove) in his earpiece- saying ’let me finish’ (before you give me the next answer).

He blows it 60 seconds into his 90 second reply- so no warning lights had gone off and the moderator had not motioned for him to end as there was plenty of time left.

There is really no other plausible explanation for this huge blunder- who was he telling to ’let him finish’? The voices in his head?

Is he talking to God again? Shouldn’t this be enough to warrant a major investigation of some sort- bush is so incompetent he needs an earpiece to speak in public!

I remember him saying that, but I figured it was just a figure of speech. One of the respondents to the above suggests that if it's true, someone at the next debate should jam the signal of Bush's earpiece so that he's completely on his own. I think it would be better to amplify that signal so that it could be played over loudspeakers thus exposing the ventrilloquism.

I tend to think that it's not true, because it seems to me that if Karl Rove was feeding Bush information through an earpiece, then Bush would not have run out of things to say halfway through the debate.

Sorry, but Karl Rove is brilliant (evil, but brilliant), and there's no way Bush would have had such a shitty performance if he was being told what to say by Rove.

I know you're not saying you buy this and you're making a joke. I was just illustrating how stupid it was to try to point out these sorts of things like something they aren't. Just as drudge wants to do with Kerry. He's apparently either partisan to the point where he doesn't mind being dishonest to further his party's bottom line, or he's an ignorant twat. I think some of both.

Capture from Tivo (not by me).

Magnified.

Regardless if it was a paper or pen or anything, if he does not at least fess up to pulling something out of his jacket, it will once again confirm my doubts about his honesty.

And if it was a piece of paper or a pen, then he clearly violated the rules of that debate.

I seriously doubt he'll ever be questioned about it. There were cameras everywhere and people watching all over. I seriously doubt he'd have been stupid enough to do something illegal with that kind of scrutiny. I've been trying to find the rules for the presidential debate, but I've been unable to locate them yet.

You know, if you sort of sharpen that image a little, it looks like a whisky container. Maybe he needed to add some to his water to not burst out in laughter against Bush's "debating skills".
