Hello everybody, I just wanted to formally introduce myself since this seems t be a rather large community. A little about myself, I am attending college at TSTC majoring in graphics game and simulation programming. THis is my first semester here and currently am taking courses in Aseembly language and an introduction to C++. To be honest I am struggling quite a bit, but am very slowly learning the basics to programing. Fortunately I have the drive to become a great programmer and look forward to entering the world of game design. I hope that this forum will be a valuable resource for help and information. Anyways Hi! ~Ryan

I'll move this to the Lounge, but I don't expect it to get a better reception over there.

Welcome! Such a cruel thing to do, moving this to the lounge... it's better if you don't learn about this particular forum, it tends to suck your soul/motivation out of you and leave you completely lacking productivity. You'll do fine. Good luck!

Awesome!

We need more pogrammers entering the market that are so interested in the game development field that they waited till college to learn the fundamentals of software development. It's important that if you're genuinely interested in something that you should wait till college and then expect your professors to show you how to make the l33test games ever. I mean, that's how ALL the great game developers have done it!

Excuse my enthusiasm (it gets the best of me) and welcome to The GDnet Lounge... where your soul will become stuck.

Hello. I was trying to major in Bistromathics, but I can't find a college (or restaurant) that teaches it anywhere, so I mostly just post here while I wait for them to come to their senses. But anyway, welcome to the community.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other

Reminds me of my AI class the other day. The professor asked how many people started programming before they were 13, and it looked like 40% of the class raised their hands.

Anyway, welcome :)
