Kerry: "I'm going to add 48,000 active duty members to our army"

Right, because Bush has such an impeccable record for telling the truth about military engagements.

Bremer seemed to think we needed more troops. Many more troops.

Bush told us last year that we'd be down to 30,000 troops there by Fall of 2003. There are 140,000 there now.

We'll see the last thread about the draft when the war is over.

His daddy also said "Read my lips, no new taxes!", so if the apple doesn't fall from the tree...

The last time Bush was campaigning for president, he also said he doesn't belive in nation building. Given this, let's not have any more of these threads about Iraq, because America can not possibly be there.

I suppose Kerry's point is that if he becomes president, then he will actually be able to find 48,000 people who want to join the military. I support a lot of his views, but I think that this is wishful thinking, and I think he knows it. But it makes his campaign sound better, assuming you don't think about it too hard.
