We're havig some trouble with a computer setup. Some specs: A GIGABYTE workstation platform, with 2 AMDs. The main trouble right now is that the setup is not detecting the harddrive on boot, thus, not letting us install any OS!!! Do you guys have any ideas?

They work, except, it just doesn't detect on BOOT! It is based on a RAID infrastructure if that makes any influence.

Make sure the IDE cable which connects the HDD to the motherboard is fully connected - and I mean fully.

I had the same problems just yesterday whilst switching HDD's.

We've done thorough testing with all cables, connections. It is the comptuer itself that is failing to detect the harddrive.

No, it's the BIOS that's failing to detect the hard drive.

You could have just set it up wrong.

PLUS, sometimes you have to pick the boot device.

For example, on my bootup screen I can press escape and then choose (from a popup) the boot device, which in turn I choose the hard drive.

Reboot with the CD in the drive, viola.

Your BIOS may not be able to recognize a RAID device.
