so yeah i have had some experience with PC clusters both in Windows and *NIX Operating Systems and am fairly familiar with how everything connects together. a while back when looking at the e-bay auction that included 73 NES's there was a discussion about clustering those together.. with the XBox and PS2 consoles do you think it would be not as trivial to cluster those together? the hardware might not be there but the communications such as network adapters are there unlike with the NES, Sega etc etc

Clustering XBox systems would be the equivelant of putting together a cluster of 733mhz Celeron systems running Win2k.

Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other

Pop a version of OpenMosix on a bunch of modded XBoxes (there's already Xebian available so it won't be hard) and off you go.

PS2 Linux Kits are hard to get nowadays since they are no longer in distribution, but you could do the same for them.
