Does anyone know where I can download a 16 or 32 bit sprite editor.

Get Paint Shop Pro. Methinks you can download a shareware version from download.com.

Go to www.allegro.cc and check out the utilities section, they have several good sprite editors, personally I recomend RSE but try several of them, there''s bound to be one that appeals to you.

There''s an a program called ImageForge that is really nice, and totally free too.

That''s what I do. If you''re running Unix or Linux you can get the Gimp. It''s free, and one of the best.

Fantasy Edge do you mean ms Paint ? I use a combination of photoshop and illustrator ( win32) , and Gimp on *nix.

actually if you are considering making sprites ..it really depends the type of graphics you are aiming at. For Fantasy Edge style, PaintShop Pro or Photoshop are highly annoying because of antialiasing ... so you better learn how to use them properly, and learn the tricks of the trade
Personally I use an old DeluxePaint-like for my 256 gfx, or Paintshoppro for 16bits gfx (eventually Photoshop, depending on what I am drawing)

Just pick a tool that suits you !
Of course, we might have completely missed your question ...

youpla :-P
