Okay, i''ve searched online, and friends, for information on getting my white colored cube to run faster than 2 fps (no joke). I know the computer community will mock my ignorance, but shouldn''t an voodoo2 accelerate it? It runs faster (if that can apply) on my laptop, while my friends laptop gets fairly good fps. I have read stuff about pixel format, and changing the flags GENERIC_FORMAT and GENERIC_ACCELERATED, but that does less than nothing. I also read that doing something with the opengl32.dll in the executible file should do something, and although skeptical, i tried it. It doesn''t work either. If anyone can give me some basic idea of opengl, and 3d cards, or whatever i need to know, please do. Sorry im a moron.

Voodoo 1 and Voodoo 2 cards have some issues that other cards don''t have that you should be aware of.

Namely, they don''t have a full OpenGL ICD, because it is impossible for them to supply a fully compatible OpenGL ICD due to the full-screen-only nature of these cards.

The reason your OpenGL program is running so slowly is that it is running in software mode.

There is some good information here:

regarding the issues of Voodoo OpenGL issues and how to work with them.

Allright, it turns out i have been to that site, and even downloaded the files, but when they didn't work the first comipile i got sick of trying. Thanks. On, this probobly is why i can't get full-screen to work either, if you know anything about that, that the other site wont fix, tell me. thanks again.

i aint got a voodoo card but i think the easiest way is to place a copy of the 3dfxgl.dll file in your apllications directory rename it to opengl32.dll and run your program in fullscreen at a resolution 800x600 or less and also in 16bit colour
