Hi. I am still trying to generate a surface from a set of points. I have 1.2million points and in the form [radius height theta] (cylindrical coordinates) the points start at 0degrees and end at 360 degrees. I want to place a surface on these points. HOW? please... Am really struggling... I wrote my own mesh generating code and normal calculating. but i want a smoother surface shading without me having to manually go and increase the mesh detail by interpolating more cordinates. Basically. How Can i get opengl to make a smooth shaded surface out of these points that i have. HELP.

Using surface normals and Gouraud shading will make your surface look smoother. Got any screenshots to show what you're looking at at the moment? That'd make it easier to suggest improvements.

I don't have any screenshots at the mo.
But i can easily adapt something that maps a surface to points making up an upright cylinder.

What is Gouraud shading and how do i implement it?
