can't install nvidia sdk

hi, i don't know if it is the right forum, but i think the most suitable was a general section. i downloaded nvidia 8.0 sdk but i cannot install it. it says: "CRC Error the file : .... \mendXfilesTest.exe does not match the file in the setup's .cab file...." and some more errors like this with some more exe files too.. what can be the problem? (i have installed directx 9 sdk (summer)) thank you..

Sounds like it got corrupted at some point. It could be any number of problems.

a) Try redownloading it from nVidia and try installing that.
b) If it still doesn't work, make sure you don't have any bad sectors on your harddrive.
c) You might have bad ram, download and run MemTest86+ to find out if you do.

Both b) and c) have happened to me at one point or another, it's not uncommon for your hardware to fail.

You should also download the October 2004 update of DirectX 9, the Summer 2004 update is out of date.
