Recently I remember seeing a thread about a screensaver or something that simulated 2d falling water, and you could draw lines to make it go where you wanted as it fell. It sounded really cool, but I cant find the thread again even after searching alot. Does anyone have a link to the thread, or the water program if it was ever found.

Well, I may just have to make one. It won't be soon though, so keep looking for the original.

I tried; mine works a bit like sand and is a bit crappy, so I gave up.

Here is something that I found that is probably very similar to what you are looking for:

Overflow

YES!... sort of.

That overflow game has the following things in common with the program I'm looking for:

-2D
-Water particles falling from above
-Can add 2D lines in realtime to direct the water

However, the following is different:

-You have to get the water to a certain 'exit' spot. I.E, its a game, not just a cool app.
-There is a limited amount of lines you can draw (makes it very difficult/ annoying)
-The lines are hard to draw correctly (pixels are big, mouse control seems awkward, and its easy to accidentally create a little 'pool' where the water particles cant get out of)
-You have a time limit. I hate that

But yea, this should give people an idea of what I was talking about incase my picture was confusing.

Thanks!

Yea I tried that Overflow game(beat the demo), the controls and the timing and the limited lines was very annoying, but I really like the concept, I hope someone finds the cool one hes talking about.
