Hi Folks, I''m a engineering student, so i get very less time for programming etc in the daytime. All the programming i''m able to do is in the night. I''ve made many programs (u can get ''em from my homepage) which have made big on many site, but since they weren''t made for anyone in special, i kept them freeware. This way i think i''m missing a lot of money which i could have made using these programming skills. The point is like is there some way i can make programs for people who can pay me online and who care how the program works rather than me being physically present in some office? I know this concept might sound a little strange, but any help will be greatly appreciated! Best Regards, San. Greetz from "THE CYANIDE!" Admin: The Cyanide''s Layer http://www.sanchit.8m.com/

There are what you discribed out there. I know for a fact that you can do stuff like that for freee but I am sure you can also do it for money. Obviously working for money is harder. I would start emailing companys you would be interested in working at to see if they do offer contract programming positions.

I am working on a Quake3 modification for free. Everyone else lives in Europe. There is allot of talk about maybe making a commercial project. You just gatta start looking arround.

Like thnx d00ds for replying esp u real_man. but can you tell me which companies would like it, like please name a few.
Also its kinda fun when you begin programming for free, but only in the beginning, see; like when a person who knows less than you and is earning big bucks eg, to install something like linux when you''ve know how to write the kernel on the other hand, make ya feel kinda sick, you see. the problem is that.
As for contract programming, i wish there was some company that was online or something..

Anyway looking for future response...

I actually am currently the 3D Animator position because Quake3 is written in C++ and I know only a little asm

I talked to Valve Softwareand they said that they had hired out contractors on various portions of Half-Life. I know for a fact that Id Software won''t let you contract program. Look arround for small software developers.

One that pops into my head that did need (I don''t know about now) a C++ Programmer is Nexon. I would send them an email. I would also do an internet search for small software developers.

Hope that helps

Cya,

Kenny

P.S. The asm conversion of Lesson 1 is almost finished

hi man!
thank real_man. That internet search idea was quite a bomb. i tried +contract +source +programming in metacrawler and atlast I''ve come across a site called www.hellobrain.com that offers online development for hobbyist and stuff.

If you find such similar sites, please post it here..

I don''t mean search the search engines for game companies. You gatta find a search engine that lets you search companies. Then you just view then webpages one by one and send out the ol'' resumé

Kenny
