Actually, I think Mars is far more hospitable to life than Quebec . J/K, I love Canada, it's the Frenchies that suck. BTW, I know this is gonna invate flames, but was not Mission To Mars a totally botched movie?

I''m sorry. It was meant in good fun. Unfair stereotyping on my part. All I know of the French is from the one trip I took to Paris. The fact that my dad, looking as American and hickish as possible, was with us didn''t help us at all. Getting a cab was almost impossible. It''s a different way of thinking over there. They''re more socialist, and really don''t agree with American policies all that much. Just different points of view. Anyways, I''ll stop now.

jhky and the rest of the GameDev staff : The issue of Canadian federalism and the separatist movement in Quebec is a very volatile subject. It will only take one stupid comment by one stupid member to cause a flame war that nobody wants to see. Worse yet, it''s a flame war that will find it''s way into more than one thread. This is not a subject which can be dealt with in a mature, rational fashion over an Internet message board . Even though for the most part the members of GameDev are responsible and the message board is under control, there are quite a few people here that might make the same mistake Jiggold did at the start of this post: Making an offensive post without thinking might be ok in an "uh,no" thread, but not in this one.

I''m not one to mess in administrative affairs, but this thread should be closed. No doubt the topic will come back, but once a thread starts to reek of lighter fluid you shouldn''t play with matches.

feel free to jump in at anytime moderators.. Im canadian so i sort of take offence to the whole quebec thing. As for the life on mars deal.It will happen. Humanity does not like the aspect of somthing being outside of their reach so it will happen eventually and probably sooner than we all imagine. in fact, who''s to say that the terraforming of mars hasnt already started? so much happens under our noses so this is not in the least bit imposible in my mind. We already change the enviroment to suit us so there is absolutly nothing stopping us from changing a planet. And i dont think that the argument that we dont have the technology will hold up very long based simply on the last hundred years. I predict that by the time I am old and decrepid, humanity will have developed to the point that we can direct our own genetic evolution. we have already started a move in this direction now with preventing cancers and other ailments at the genetic level.. who knows where our imaginations may thrive.
