ok, I did a search on all the milkshape web site forums, I've gone right through the help pages - I want to know what the file format of ms3d ascii is ? Without anyone describing the format it's just a bunch of numbers to me. I've seen opengl functions that read in this data but I don't actually know what each number represents. Is the file format of ms3d described anywhere on the ms3d site or help pages ? I don't want to simply cut n paste other people's functions that read this data without understanding it myself. (by the way - I posted it to this forum because I want to interpret and draw the models using opengl - I realise that with Directx you use triangles to do it all - I want to use opengl functionality) cheers Ade

Did you download the MS3D SDK from the site? AFAIK it contains just that information.

yes, I just downloaded the help section - I couldn't find it in there.

hang on - yes - I just found it - I'll check that through - I thought when you downloaded milkshape that the sdk was all part of it.
