currently i am using perforce with me being the only user and one computer, so client and server are the same computer. I have a friend who is going to help me on a project and i am wondering if he can remotly connect to my perforce server. Would he have to specify my ip, because that may be a problem as i have cable, and it is dynammic. Please help, as i am clueless about this. Thanks

Look into one of the free dynamic DNS providers. I have nothing but good to say about www.no-ip.com.

They will set you up with a domain name and a small program you install on your own computer. This program will connect to their servers every once in a while and make sure their DNS servers have your IP.

(Keep in mind that the free version of Perforce only allows you to have two clients.)

ok, i got no-ip up and running, but i still can't figure out what i would do to connect remotly. I don't see anywhere i could put an address for the connection, just port. So how do i do it. Please help. Thanks
